According to the current circular of the Ministry of Labor, the educational programs “Safety Technicians of risk category B or C” are submitted 3 months prior the dates of implementation.
The final date for the programs’ submission at the Ministry of Labor is 10/09/2019.
The employer/company until it acquires the Training Certification, it should assign the Safety Technician’s duties to an external partner or to external prevention and protection services (EXYPP).
The educational programs “Safety Technicians of risk category B or C” which are of 35 and 10 hours of duration respectively, get submitted to the Ministry of Labor – Directorate D9 and they are being realised in certified classrooms that are located in our subdivisions in Attica (Argyroupoli, Aigaleo, Neo Iraklio and Pireaus), in Thessaloniki, in Kiato, in Xanthi and in Alexandroupoli.
Since the conclusion of the seminar and provided that it has been issued the ruling of approval from the ministry, it will be issued a Training Certification in a period of 10 days. As soon as the Training Certification is issued, the employer will be able to be declared as safety technician and, at the same time, terminate the safety technician’s duties assignment contract.

The Safety Technician Seminar concerns all the employers. It is foreseen from the legislation that every employer who employs employees should have a person in charge for the safety and health of the employees and the workspace/ safety technician.
The safety technician is an advisor for the employer and the employees and, in general, his role is:
- to supervise regularly the jobs in terms of work health and safety, to report to the employer any default of the health and safety measures, to suggest countermeasures and supervise their application.
- to care so the company’s employees abide by the health and safety rules in the workplace and to guide them for the prevention of the professional risk which is implied with their job
Also, the employer has the obligation to have a written assessment of the risks in his/er business which writes the safety technician. In the written risk assessment, a systematic examination of all aspects of each work performed is performed and recorded:
What could possibly cause damages and failures.
In what percentage the sources of danger could be eliminated, and if not
What are the protection and prevention measures that are being applied or they must be applied.
For the determination of the safety technician’s qualifications and the estimate of his/her employment time, the businesses are being ranked in 3 categories: A (high risk), B (medium risk), C (low risk).
The employment time of the safety technician depends on the amount of the employees and the risk of the business.
For the C category programs the participation fee is 70€ and for the B category programs is 130€.
