The final conference of the S.ED.IN project was successfully realised on Saturday, November 30th 2019 under the title “Application of Creative Learning Methods [in Primary Education] – Montessori Method & Creative Learning Method”. The conference took place in the Auditorium of the Archaeological Museum of Mytilene’s New Building. The project is funded by the European Union’s Erasmus+ program (Project No 572727-EPP-1-2016-1-EL-EPPKA3-SUP-APPREN).
In the conference participated over 100 people who were coming from the Primary Education’s sector.
The conference opened with the participants’ registration. The first part of the conference started with a short welcome speech from the director of the Company of Research, Education, Innovation & Development of the North Aegean Region S.A. “ELORIS S.A.”, Mary Constantoglou. Mrs Constantoglou’s speech followed the presentation of the SEDIN project and its online course from Mr. Kostas Diamanti-Balaska of Action Synergy S.A.
Followed the presentation of Mr. Nikolaos Kamtsis, president of Centre of Higher Education in Theatre Studies, who talked introductory about the Creative Learning Method (C.LEAR) and its implementation in the SEDIN project. Mr Kamtsis succeeded Mrs Nicole Hermann, representative of Watermark Montessori International Institute, who, in turn, presented a brief introduction to the Montessori Method and its application in the project.
In the second part of the conference, we welcomed the external evaluator of the project, Mr. Colin Isham, who presented in brief the evaluation of the implementation of the two learning methods of Maria Montessori and of Creative Learning (C.LEAR), which the SEDIN project used. Subsequently, a cycle of presentations followed on the subject of the SEDIN’s project’s implementation in schools, which were made from the other project’s partners representatives (Universitat di Girona, Cooperazione Internationale Sud Sud, Center for Creative Training Association and Karsiyaka District National Education Directorate).
The conclusion of the conference marked the Award Ceremony of the Training Titles to the teachers, who were trained on the two methods during the project’s training seminars that were realised in Mytilene and Kalloni during the spring of 2019.
