The Center for Vocational Training of the Regional Unit of Lesvos (KEKAPEL SA) participates in the Partnership as a Coordinator

And the other Members are:

The Act refers to one hundred and twenty (120) unemployed-young Scientists-insured in (Hellenic) Agricultural Insurance Organization, who are residences at Lesvos Regional Unit.

The aim of the Act is:

Preparing, promoting and supporting the one hundred and twenty (120) unemployed to either be hired by existing companies or -mainly- help them set up their own business.

They will be offered:

• Counseling Support throughout the program and during the first 3 months of their employment.
• The participants will attend related training programs
• They will meet beneficiaries of similar Actions, which are being implemented in the North Region during the same period of time, in order to share their experiences.

Finally, for the beneficiaries who will establish a new business, FREE business plan development and support for its proper implementation, will be provided.

Participation in the Action “Promotion to Employment of Unemployed young people aged 25 to 29 with science, technology, and business orientation, through training in the ICT sector”.

The announcement concerns all graduates except those from the Education and Informatics sectors.

The action will be implemented along with the training voucher by the licensed Centers for Lifelong Learning which will be registered in the list of Action Providers.

Includes:

1. Vocational Guidance (two sessions )
2. Provision of continuing professional theoretical training duration of four hundred (400) hours in the fields of Technology, Informatics, and Communications,
3. Certification of the knowledge and skills will be acquired within the framework of the training program
4. Internship – on the job training – total duration of two hundred (200) hours.

The topics of the training programs are:

• Software Application Developer
• Website and application design specialist
• Database Developer

The Educational Allowance: includes the theoretical training allowance which reaches the: 2,000.00 Euros (400 hours * 5.00 euros/hour) and the internship allowance which reaches the:  800.00 Euros (200 hours * 4.00 euro/hour).

The vocational training center of the regional unit of Lesvos (with the distinctive name “KEKAPEL SA Ke.Di.V.M.2”), which is located at 36 Kavetsou Street, has been founded at the end of 1995 in Mytilene and is pioneered in the field of vocational training. At the same time, it has implemented a number of granted and self-funded programs for unemployed and employees.

The center of vocational training it announces to the beneficiaries who have already been approved and placed in services by the Municipality of Lesvos, in the context of the Public Benefit Program in all Municipalities of the country for the 24,251 full-time positions that the Action of Training is expected to be announced soon in the following days.

The educational subject of the above Action is:

«Training program in Information and Communication Technology (ICT)»

• Its duration is 120 hours and includes three educational levels: beginners’ level, basic level and advance level.
• Those who choose to attend will take part, after the completion of the training program, in certification exams for the acquisition of a CERTIFICATE (similar to CDL).
• The Beneficiaries who will choose to participate to the above educational program, they will be attending a training session at the end of each week, while in the other four days they will be working at the institution that they will be placed. In case a beneficiary does not choose to attend the training program, he/she will work the five days of the week.

The terms and the conditions of the training program will follow the requirements of the training (voucher), after a relevant invitation of interest to the Training Providers is announced.

KEKAPEL intends to take part as a Training Provider and to implement the above program in its certified IT rooms. KEKAPEL invites the participants of the Public Benefit programs to express their intention to participate in it.

REGISTRATION DOCUMENTS:

• Certificate from the municipality that the participant is employed in the specific Municipality who has originated the call, in the context of sub no. 1/2017 Public Invitation from OAED
• Copy of personal ID (Police ID)
• The number of the application form (in case they do not have it, they should refer to OAED providing their Personal ID)

1. Those who choose to attend the program will participate- at the end of the program- in certification exams for the acquisition of a CERTIFICATE (similar to ECDL).
2. The Beneficiaries who will choose to participate to the above educational program, they will be attending a training session at the end of each week -every Friday, while the other four days of the week they will be working at the institution that they will be placed. In case a beneficiary does not choose to attend the training program, he/she will work all five days of the week.

The program is co-financed by Greece and the European Union, NSRF 2014-2017, in the Business framework under the title “Human Resource Development, Education and Lifelong Learning” and is implemented by the Ministry of Labor and OAED.

The training is about the designing and implementation of programs for the promotion of health, in order the abovementioned health professionals to become capable to function efficiently in the new environment of the Primary Health Care with emphasis on the primary prevention policies and on targeted actions at the level of secondary prevention.

The project constitutes part of a broader action, co-funded by the European Union (ECF) and from National Funds, in the framework of the NP “HUMAN RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT”, under the title “Production of educational material and training of health professionals of the North Aegean Region upon the designing and implementation of programs for the promotion of health in the context of the Primary Health Care.”

The training program will be of total duration of 120 hours (90 hours of Theoretical Training and 30 hours of Workshops), and it will take place on the following cities:

• Mytilene (25 participants)
• Samos (25 participants)
• Myrina (25 participants)
• Agios Kyrikos (20 participants)

The courses will be daily, from Monday to Thursday, during afternoon hours (16:00 – 20:15) and twice a month on Saturday during day hours (09:00 – 14:00).

The Training Program includes the following subject units:

• HEALTH OF WORK – BASIC WORK LEGISLATION – PRINCIPLES OF COMPANY OPERATION – APPLICATION OF THE NON-DISCRIMINATION PRINCIPLE
• INVESTIGATION OF HEALTH PROBLEMS IN SOCIETY

• NETWORKS WORK IN SOCIETY – NEW SERVICES IN THE COMMUNITY
• TELE-MEDICINE IN THE PRIMARY HEALTH CARE
• THE ROLE OF THE HEALTH PROFESSIONALS AS COMMUNITY’S EDUCATORS – TRAINING OF THE GENERAL POPULATION ON HEALTH ISSUES

CHAPTER 1: INFORMATION FOR THE VOCATIONAL TRAINING PROGRAM

OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAM

CHAPTER 2: TRAINING PROGRAM’S EDUCATIONAL CONTENT

1. Description of the program’s educational content

The correct planning and construction of the program is of essential matter for its success. The main stages during the planning of this program are:

• the study of the existing situation in the labor market and the project’s relevance to its needs.
• the investigation of the trainees’ training needs, in relation to the educational level and the skills that should be acquainted during this object of training.
• the needs analysis of the labor market in relation to the beneficiaries’ focus group.
• the determination of the purpose of the program and its specific educational objectives in terms of knowledge, skills, and trends.
• the selection of the subject content and the divide of the program into teaching modules and sub-modules.
• the selection of appropriate teaching methods, techniques, and tools.
• the selection of the appropriate trainers
• the functional selection of the trainees
• ensuring internships for the trainees related to the objective of the training.
• the expected evaluation of the program

The program is referred to 20 unemployed individuals who are related or are interested in the production of goods for sale, and specifically digital goods, od duration 400 hours in total, which are divided into 260 hours of theory and 140 hours of internships.

Based on the above stages, the educational program includes theoretical and practical training in modern techniques for the creation and promotion of digital goods for sale, using all the available technological tools. The program emphasizes the learning to use modern and powerful design and presentation software, the introduction, and getting familiar with the most popular digital tools and the understanding of the plethora of possible applications in the field of Culture. During the program, they will be used the most popular and efficient designing and production tools in order for the trainees to be able to follow the most used software without having to deal constantly with updated versions and different features and functions.

The trainees will be taught the entire necessary theory in order to understand the technological, but also the operational background of the applications, and, then, they will be called through the internship period, to follow the in practice application of the specific subject with market terms and conditions. The internship will provide the trainees with a tangible form in the product (digital disks, websites, audiovisual material) in order to become clear its commercial form and the promotional and sale possibilities.

The training also includes work issues as well as information on health and safety issues.

2. Description of the program’s goals 

The main goal of the program is the presentation of the modern technologies to the trainees, so they become capable and efficient in their work and productivity, increasing their competitive advantage in the labor market. Indirect goal of the program is also the upgrade of the provided cultural products, as their presence in the market so far is rather disappointing. The goal is considered particularly important since in Lesvos is presented a remarkable cultural action and, in some occasions, of unique character.

Regarding the educational goals, a great weight will be given on:

• the modern educational methods and educational materials.
• the upgrade of the educational programs’ quality and their response to the needs of the employees and the businesses.
• the educational programs’ integration in the new methods of work and production organizing.
• the flexibility of the educational programs depending on the needs of the labor market combined with the individual needs of employees.
• the trainees’ familiarization with the real work conditions in the field of production, in the internship’s framework.
