The INTERREG BALKAN MED INNOVA project is an project of inter-Balkan scope and its main goals are:
- The encouragemnt for the creation of innovative businesses
- Cultivating a more business-friendly spirit and developing Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs)
- The stimulation of the business mentality with a special orientation in four (4) economic sectors of great strategic importance for the socio-economic development of our region.
These sectors are:
- Tourism & Cultural Heritage
- Agriculture
- Information and Communication Technologies for SMEs and
- Energy and Environment
The partnership is consituted by the follow partners:
- University of Ioannina – UOI (Greece) – LEAD PARTNER

- Youth Entreprenerial Service (YES) Foundation (North Macedonia)
- Cyprus University of Technology – CUT (Cyprus)
- Company of Research, Education, Innovation and Developement of the North Aegean Region S.A. – ELORIS S.A. (Greece)
The project’s activitites will be:
- FREE online cources for each of the aforementioned sectors
- FREE personalized support service (guidance) for the best business ideas, and most of all
- FINANCIAL SUPPORT for the implementation of the most remarkable Business Ideas that will arise with the support of the Project
The project aims to:
- Provide support opportunities in order to improve the business environment of the existing and new businesses in the region, through an intergovernmental approach by engaging new types of business models, by supporting / exchanging ideas and encouraging innovation.
- Enhance the capabilities of small and medium-sized enterprises to transfer expertise in order to improve their competitiveness.
- Provide adequate support for small and medium-sized enterprises to improve their ability to adapt to changing socio-economic conditions by supporting innovative models within a globalized framework.
- Support business learning and improve SME skills through training, retraining and guidance to acquire the necessary skills, grow in other markets and introduce innovation in all phases of their business cycle.

The KIck-Off Meeting of the BalkanMed INNOVA project took place in Arta, July 25th – 26th, 2017.
The partner of EVERU had the opportunity to present its institution in the consortium. The meeting continued with the Project’s Overview presentation, while the Lead Partner presented the Project’s structure and highlighted its management and activities.
